Questions:
  1. What is a counter?
  2. How do I add a counter on my homepage?
  3. What are those "Hits"?

Answers:
  1. What is a counter?

A counter indicates how many visitors you have had on your homepage. This is one of the most interesting things for a webmaster since (almost) everyone wants to know whether their homepage is visited frequently or not. The counter also shows how interesting your homepage is to other people. This feature helps you to improve your content so that more people will be visiting your webpage.

  2. How do I add a counter on my homepage?

Just watch the video, everything is explained in it: How to add a counter

  3. What are those "Hits"?

A counter differenciates between "visits" and "hits". "Visits" are "real" Visitors. If someone visits your page, you will get one more visit. The more pages this person clicks on your homepage, the more hits you get. But you will only get one visit, no matter how many pages of yours he actually visits. So, the amount of visits shows how many people are visiting your page and the amount of hits show, how interesting your page is.

Example: A person vists your homepage. You will get 1 visit and 1 hit. He clicks on 4 sub-pages on your homepage and you will get 0 additional visits, but 4 additional hits.

Today, we have already helped 13 visits (22 hits)
